Read ManualThe Halcon (the Spanish word "Halcon" means "eagle"), as a typical mid-19th century two-masted schooner, its lifeboat configuration reflects the maritime safety standards and model-making specifications of the era.
The prototype ship was usually equipped with 1-2 wooden open lifeboats, complying with the maritime safety standards of the mid-19th century. It adopted a hard-shell structure, with a length of about 1/6 to 1/5 that of the mother ship (approximately 4-5 meters), and could accommodate 8-12 crew members. It was equipped with 6-8 manual oars and small sailing gear, possessing basic navigational capabilities.
Lifeboats were suspended on davits on both sides of the deck, allowing for quick release in emergencies. Equipped with a lowering device consisting of pulley blocks and ropes, manually operated by the crew, they could be safely lowered even in rough seas. The exterior of the boat hull was fitted with handrails for gripping, while the interior had thwarts (seat crossboards) and storage compartments for storing fresh water, dry provisions and first-aid supplies.
